Volunteering at Yale
Yale Alumni Service Corp
The Association of Yale Alumni is delighted to offer an innovative service opportunity for alumni, families, and friends. Yale Service Trips build on the diverse talents and energies of our alumni volunteers to provide critical services to communities in need. Projects vary from construction to medicine, education, athletics, small business consulting, and more. These programs provide opportunities to work alongside people in the local community, enjoy meaningful cross-cultural exchange, and form incredible bonds with fellow alumni who share a passion for service.
Students and Alumni of Yale (STAY) brings together Yale undergraduates, graduate and professional school students, and alumni through service, mentorship, and social activities. This central purpose makes us unique among Yale organizations. STAY's mission reaches far beyond New Haven to shared interest/identity groups, Yale College classes, G&P alumni associations, and regional Yale clubs around the world. Alumni provide the wisdom of educational, job, and life experience. Graduate and professional students offer career guidance to college students and energy to alumni. Undergraduates inject fresh perspectives and enthusiasm. STAY offers a unique intersection of these talents and a way for three Yale communities to form long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships.
Yale Day of Service
Last year, over 3,500 Yale alumni and friends came together to work side-by-side in service all over the world. At more than 245 sites in 40 states and 18 countries, members of the Yale community embodied the University's great tradition of service in giving back. Local communities were changed by the Yale alumni who live and work there.
There are opportunities to support the day of service all year.
The Yale Global Alumni Leadership Exchange, or "YaleGALE", is an AYA initiative that seeks the advancement of education through alumni engagement and leadership that fosters rich cultural understanding, shares best practices in alumni relations and provides reciprocal educational opportunities among world leading universities.
Bulldogs Across America
The mission of Bulldogs Across America is to create and support alumni sponsored internship programs that are sustainable by the local community. In addition, the programs will provide meaningful internships, free or low cost housing, a comprehensive set of high content events and presentations which illuminate the host community, and profound personal engagement of alumni and interns. It is a significant educational and maturing experience for the participants and one they will regard as invaluable in their Yale career.
